Humber

Humber was founded in 1868 by Thomas Humber as a bicycle manufacturer though in 1896, the company started to build powered tricycles (in Coventry (UK)) that used a 2.5hp single cylinder engine. By 1904 the tricars had evolved into a forecar with a fully enclosed 5hp engine and padded seats for both passenger and driver. This was the Humber Olympia Tri-car.   The company were also experimenting with 4-wheeled vehicles and these eventually took over from the 3-wheelers.

The 1904 Humber Olympia Tri-car. (My thanks to Kerry Croxton for sending in this picture).
